Let God Take the Wheel

Somewhere around Lanao del Sur, a lovely sunny morning greeted us
I am on last and final post for my Summer Roadtrip 2017. From Siquijor we arrived past 7:00 P.M. in Dumaguete City. Instead of going out the port area, we decided to just stay inside and went straight to get our ticket for the 12:00 midnight RORO to Dipolog City.

According to my research, travel time from Dumaguete City to Dipolog City is 4 hours, but by 2:00 A.M. we were at the port of Dipolog City. Still sleepy and tired we drive straight, had a short stop in one of the 24 hours bakery in Dipolog for coffee.
Back on the road and after more than an hour drive, Lolo Boy reads "Welcome to Ipil," at the wee hours we got lost. We went to look for a police outpost and asked the way to Pagadian City. We reached Pagadian City past 6:00 A.M., along the way we witnessed an accident, killing a motorcycle on the spot. Had breakfast in Pagadian City and did change clothes because it has been more than 24 hours since I took a bath in Bacolod City.
On our way home, we passed by Lanao del Sur, Lanao del Norte and Maguindanao. Along Lanao del Sur - Maguindanao Highway we noticed a number of tricycle full of people with their belongings. We were overtaken by private cars driving passed. We just think that, there might be a festival or a Muslim wedding or high ranking officials visiting Maguindanao and Lanao del Sur.

We reached Parang, Maguindanao around 11:00 A.M., near the PNP Camp in Parang we noticed that there seemed to be so much activity that passing along its gate took us a while. We stopped in one of the restaurants in Parang for more coffee to keep us awake and had an early lunch of pastil.
Back on the road non-stop until we got home by 2:00 PM. And by the 6:30 P.M. we were made aware of what was happening in Marawi City. That evening I felt God's mighty hands taking over our whole family roadtrip. Had we took the Lazi - Iligan City route, we do not know what might happen. We took the wrong turn in Ipil to avoid the accident along Pagadian City or to avoid travelling in the dark in Lanao del Sur-Maguindanao highway.
Blessed and grateful for this summer roadtrip, it brought us closer as family. It made us realized  how God took over the wheel of our lives. Days after our trip, we were talking, and Mama told us how blessed we are to go home safe despite the adversities around us.
In the end, it is still God that will be glorified in what ever we do, may it be on our travels or even in our food trips. May we be able to see God's hands in all that we do, and let Him take the wheel.
Praying for more travels........
