The Monastery of Transfiguration in Malaybalay, Bukidnon

Two years ago, I planned on visiting the Monastery, but for some reasons I did not push through with it. And finally, with a little probing of my twin angels, they agreed and now I get see the Monastery of Transfiguration.
It is located at Barangay San Jose, Malaybalay City, Bukidnon. From the city center we hired a "motorela" ,  for Php 300.00., for one whole day. It is a must to hire a motorcycle or have your own vehicle in going to the monastery. From the main highway, it is tucked on a hill inside a gated property of the Benedictine monks.
During our visit, we arrived minutes before the monk's 11:30 prayer, guests are invited to join in their prayer. The whole experience is very refreshing, as I listened to their prayer chants.
It is advisable to wear decent clothes, and it means, no above the knees and plunging necklines. One of the twins was wearing a pedal pusher but quiet close to above her knees, the guard asked her to wear a long skirt, which is readily available at the guardhouse.
After their prayer, we went to their Gift Shop for some pasalubong shopping.
The Monastery of Transfiguration Church was built by the National Artist for Architecture, Leandro Locsin. And the monastery's church was his last work before he died in 1994.
I feel so blessed that as I celebrate my 30th birthday I got to visit the Monastery of Transfiguration.
