Kaon Ta' sa New Capitol Restaurant sang Koronadal City

Have you heard of New Capitol Restaurant in Koronadal City? If you are like me, who learned about it from my cousin Miya just weeks before our visit, New Capitol Restaurant is something to experience and visit.
New Capitol Restaurant is an institution in Marbel, the other name of Koronadal City that we locals are more comfortable to use. Mama and Papa knew about it. Located in Marbel's entertainment block, back in the 80's to early 90's, its location was the block where movie theaters were located and it sits across Marbel's Municipal Hall. I can say it was strategically located back in the days, "it was the place to be" then.
The visit happened after our indie movie date. Miya loves indie film and I am the "ate" who will always move mountains to support her. Especially now that she's taking workshops on indie film making, can't wait for the time that I will be watching her own indie film.
We walked from KCC Mall to New Capitol Restaurant, which is a block away from the mall. We got there sweating and gasping, but as expected the place have wall fans around to cool us. I ordered right away, a bowl of Lomi and Siopao. I was a fun place to be that brought me back in the days when orders are taken and written on a piece of paper and stuck on a board with inverted nails. Then the lady at the counter shouts it out to the kitchen. Then there is the pagoda like steamer for siopao.
We were the only customer that afternoon, so orders got to our table fast. Miya said the lomi tastes the same, full of "laman" and very flavorful. The siopao on the other hand is the one I used to eat and miss back in elementary days, every exam Mama would come to bring us snacks of siopao or waffle.

can you find the siopao steamer?

It feels good that they have maintained the place the way it was in the days. The place may not be air conditioned or have the convenience we get from the new restaurants, but it was worth a visit and a must try. It lets you experience how restaurants work in the past.
New Capitol Restaurant gives me a wonderful experience that there is beauty in simple and slow. While waiting for our orders, we get to people watch and talk, which sometimes we failed to do because everything is so fast.
