Almost a week on the road and we are back in Bacolod City. Our last meal was Roberto's Siopao, the first thing we did after we embarked is find a place to have an early dinner. Been to Bacolod City a number of times, and safest street to go when looking for a place to eat is Lacson St. where you get to pass by 1st Street to I am not sure 14th St. maybe or even more.
Mai Pao been on my food radar because Chef Jayps Anglo. I want to try atleast one of his restaurants, and there is no better place to try it, Bacolod City, his hometown. Mai Pao is a place to go to for an affordable Chinese dishes. I have read in one blog that Chef JP Anglo helped redesign its menu.
We went to have an early dinner so we were lucky enough to be the only group to be served that time. We ordered; Birds Nest Soup Php 190.00, Lemon Chicken for Php 235.00, Fried Hainanese Chicken for Php 180.00, Garlic Spareribs for Php 360.00, Xiao Long Bao for Php 85.00 and Beef Broccoli for Php 390.00.
Servings are big enough for 5 person but when we asked, our waiter told us that its good for 2-3 only. We love to eat but we are not a big eater, so ended up having take-out that evening, because we ordered 2 orders for each dish.
