Food discoveries and adventures never ends, when you have senior citizen parents who want to enjoy their 20% discounts on food and restaurants. This on the other hand becomes my privilege. Being a daugther, I need to come with then to their regular check-ups and activities,and as an entrepreneur I have the time in my hands.
Learned about Balay Ocho Resto & Grill from my friend's instagram posts. And since we've tried most of the restauranats within the city center of General Santos City, we went a little farther this time. Balay Ocho Resto & Grill is located in one of the subdivisions in General Santos City, Agan Grandville. It was already lunch time when we came and most of the tables were full with families and office workers.
We visited late April and the temperature that time was higher than chocolates' melting point. Mama was a bit hesitant at first because the place was so hot, even when its al fresco. The place being a housing lot of a subdivision, the front area of the house was converted into a restaurants dining area, making it close to the cemented road that adds up to the high temperature. But then the foodie in me convinced Mama to try this place.
For lunch we ordered; Watermelon Salad for Php 89.00, Bulalo Php 149.00, Sizzling Bulalo for Php 150.00, Grilled Pinoy Liempo for Php 129.00, Crispy Tadyang ng Baka for Php 99.00 and Cucumber Lemonade for Php 25.00. Most dishes comes with unlimited rice, good thing that Browie was so hungry we don't need to order for extra rice.
Serving sizes according to them is good for one person as it comes with unlimited rice, for me each serving is enough for 2-3 persons. Prices are very affordable especially that it comes with rice, a glass of cucumber lemonade for Php 25.00 is way cheaper because in other restaurants you usually get it at Php 55.00 up.
Balay Ocho Resto & Grill indeed provides their customers the comfort of home ccoked meals. Its highly recommended place, even for students craving for home cooked meals can afford this place. It is located in B5 L21 Agan Grandville, Block 8, Salvani st., Brgy. City Heights, General Santos City.
