Mai Walks: Danao!Danao!
|Bastion of Catholic faith in Danao City, Sto. Tomas de Villanueva Church|
While in the ferry me & sissy were salivating for a Halo-Halo because of the hot weather & "walang ligo style." Since it was not her first time to be in Danao City, she told me we can walk from the port area to the bus terminal. Along the way we can drop by for a Halo-Halo in Mang Inasal.
And so we did, from the port or ferry terminal of the Danao City, you can walk to;
- Santo Tomas de Villanueva Church
Located across the ferry terminal is one of oldest church in the Philippines, built in 1755. The church was damaged during World War II, as it served as a hiding place for the townsfolk of Danao.
From the Church, you can walk to the city center, passing through the City Hall, Plaza and other Government Offices.
- Mang Inasal
With no decent breakfast, we were too hungry to look for a Danao original restaurant or food house. We went straight to Mang Inasal at F. Ralota Street, Danao City. We had Combo chicken thigh and Halo-Halo.
After lunch we were back on foot to Danao City Terminal. Instead of taking a bus, we rode a jeepney to Cebu City.
