Basiao is a coastal barangay in the town of Ivisan, Capiz. We're here for a short visit, so we might as well waste no time to explore Ivisan. After breakfast and a nap for Lolo Boy, we are off to explore Basiao and Mabaay Island.
Basiao being a coastal barangay is also known for its fishport, where locals go very early every morning to buy fresh seafood. It is also home to many beach resort, RBM Virgin Beach is one and our jump-off point to Mabaay Island.
Mabaay Island is one of best and well known of the many islets and island in Basiao. Known for its white sand beach, Mabaay is a good place for picnic and swimming. From RBM Virgin Beach we hired a motorized banca for Php 1,500.00 that would ferry us to and from the island. We enjoyed an hour of swimming, then we went to explore the rocky side of the island, where we get to enjoy a photo sesh with Miya.
Basiao indeed is place that got it all, beach, island and seafood all at a very affordable price. It was a time well spent and another island explored.
